OCZ Throttle eSATA Flash Drives

I’ve never seen any eSATA flash drive yet, at least, until now. OCZ Throttler officially launching eSATA Throttle flash drive and it will be available in 8GB ($32), 16GB ($56) and 32GB ($160).

If you are worrying your motherboard or laptop doesn’t have any eSATA connection available, don’t worry, OCZ knows that and they have provided a mini-USB port so you can use it just like a normal USB Flash drive. One stone two bird. Very clever PC gadget.

Sony to Sell MicroVault with Preload Content

You know microvault, right? Yep, it’s a flash drive brand by Sony the Giant World Class Electronics Manufacturer. Recently, Sony says that they will start selling their MicroVault with preloaded content instead of selling the blank corpse of USB flash drives.

It’s indeed a smart move to attract more buyers, but it’s all depend on what’s preloaded into Sony MicroVault. If it’s a good value, I will be the first to be on the queue.

According to Sony, they will preload their MicroVault USB drives with special edition movies and music contents. Sony has unveiled some of the movies title and musics, such as Thriller: 25th Anniversary Edition, Da Vinci Code and MIB (Man In Black).

MicroVault has a range of capacity to choose from, from 1GB to 16GB. The price for MicroVault 2GB USB Flash drive with preloaded content is $19.99 while the 4GB one is at $29.99 and 8GB size is at $39.99. Pretty reasonable price.

Enigma is the combination of Size and Design from GressoDesign. It’s more on a Jewelry then a mere necklaces for your girlfriend. Enigma’s have star like design, with each end of the pointy edge is a Flash drives with monster size capacity. On each end, you’ll find 64GB flash drive and there are three of them in one enigma star.

Result in 192GB, it’s pretty like wearing a hard drive on your neck with more sense and touch of the luxurious. Enigma will cost you 5,000 euro, or equal to around $10,000 in US$. There are two versions of Enigma design, one is the Star shape called “Constellation” and the other is called “Labyrinth”.

The main material of the Enigma design is the 200 year old African Blackwood, blended together with diamonds and 18K gold. Perhaps that’s the reason why it’s so expensive. It’s really a hi-tech fashion for those bornrich peoples. Not for us who live on paycheck to paycheck…

Lacie CurrenKey: Coin Shaped USB Flash Drive

If you have a good observation, you’ll notice almost anything is turned to USB flash drives. Starting from freaking cool design to weird stuffs. From Dirt to tasty foods (watermelon, etc). From bling-bling to steampunk style design. Yep, almost everything.

Now, it’s the turns of our daily uses COINs as the respective design for latest LaCie flash drive series, the LaCie CurrenKey.

Somehow, it looks a bit funny. As if the Capacity / Data is the currency of our geeky life. The currency for this coin shaped flash drive is in 4GB (bronze) and 8GB (silver). This type of design offers several benefits like easy to store by stacking them together and can be identified easily using the colors.

The size also the similar to our Coins. Which is illustrated in the following pictures:

But I’m kinda dislike the limited “currency”. 8GB is really minimum these days as the ever increasing needs of data such as storing music, videos, etc. The price is $20 (4GB) and $30 (8GB). Pretty expensive and I might want to make a big jump to the 64GB flash drives instead, if by any chance I valued capacity more than the unique design.
